Local Love Continues to Grow in Kamloops

Gardening enthusiasts at The Mustard Seed Kamloops have a brand new space to store all their supplies, thanks to a generous donation by Domtar Kamloops and some elbow grease from participants of the Men’s Recovery Program at the Mustard Seed.

The purchase of the shed was coordinated by United Way British Columbia – working with communities in BC’s Interior, Lower Mainland and Central & Northern Vancouver Island. We are proud to strengthen these vital connections in Kamloops.

Participants of the Mustard Seed’s Men’s Recovery Program assembled the shed, and say they are looking forward to making good use of it in the spring.

“Our guys love getting outside when it’s warm and doing some gardening. We have a private space behind our building where they can go and work on their garden in peace,” says Jeff Arlitt, Recovery Manager with the Men’s Recovery Program at the Mustard Seed Kamloops. “This shed will make our gardening easier, as we don’t have to store dirty gardening tools indoors. It is a welcome addition to our space.”

We can’t wait to see what kind of fruits and vegetables grow at the Mustard Seed next summer. Thanks again for making this possible, Domtar!
