Our assistance doesn’t stop when the immediate crisis ends. We are committed to the well-being of our communities and work alongside those affected through recovery to help create long-term sustainability. Through our programs like Hi Neighbour and 211 British Columbia, we can respond quickly and work with community leaders and partners to meet needs.

Emergency Response Grants Open
United Way British Columbia is increasingly stepping in to provide immediate response to large scale crises in our province and taking action locally on emerging issues and opportunities. United Way BC’s Emergency Response approach is centered on mobilizing resources to help communities in the early days of a crisis and then providing longer term supports when we know what recovery efforts are needed.
This grant is to amplify the work of local community agencies and organizations and to clarify how we can help respond together by supporting people initially affected by the wildfires with basic needs from food and water to mental health supports.
Local community agencies and organizations providing support to those impacted by the Wesley Ridge Fire around Cameron Lake are invited to apply for a grant.
