The 21st Annual North Okanagan Drive-Thru Breakfast raised over $24,000 for the region!
Thank you to all the incredible local businesses and amazing community members that showed up, donated, volunteered, and supported the event.
On March 22, 2023, the 21st Annual North Okanagan Drive-Thru Breakfast, presented by Total Restoration Services and hosted by the Prestige Vernon Lodge and Conference Centre, raised over $24,000 to increase Food Security, among other initiatives, in our community! This incredible result was only possible thanks to the generosity of local businesses and all the amazing community members that showed up, donated, volunteered, and supported this beautiful event.
“We want to thank all of you for showing your Local Love! I’m so proud of this community and how they really demonstrated the heart they have and how much they care about each other,” said Michael McKnight, President & CEO, United Way BC. “All the money raised in Vernon will stay in the North Okanagan region. That’s the great thing about United Way, it’s 100% local.”
Volunteers rallied together to welcome hundreds of cars lined up to donate and receive a delicious breakfast bag, hot coffee, treats, and many prizes hidden in the bags, including travel vouchers, resort stays, gift cards, and much more.
Partners made it all possible
The United Way BC North Okanagan Drive-Thru Breakfast would not be possible without the support of some truly amazing sponsors.
We are deeply grateful to Total Restoration Services – North Okanagan-Shuswap for presenting this event. “You can help so many people by helping United Way. There are so many different factors that make it awesome to support,” said Conan Ackert, managing owner of Total Restoration Services – North Okanagan-Shuswap.
Thank you to our venue, the Prestige Vernon Lodge and Conference Centre, for providing such an amazing location for our Drive-Thru. We appreciate their long-time partnership in supporting this event and for playing a vital role in its coordination and ultimate success.
A huge shout out to our media sponsors, Pure Country 105.7, Castanet, Beach Radio 107.5, Global Okanagan and the Morning Star, who helped drive our fundraising success by promoting the breakfast publicly and by showing up in the morning to help welcome our breakfast goers.
We’re also grateful for the North Okanagan Labour Council, who came out to volunteer with a great energy!
And special thanks to sponsors like Nixon Wenger LLP and Valley First, a Division of First West Credit Union, who joined other organizations in pre-promoting the event, providing hidden prizes, volunteering, and handing out goodies on-site.
From all of us at United Way BC, thank you to our sponsors for your amazing show of Local Love for our community!

United Way Food Hubs
Due to the pandemic and the global economic crisis, families are struggling to make ends meet. No one should have to decide between food and rent, yet a recent study shows that one in six Canadians lives in a household facing a food shortage.
Land to Table Network is a United Way Food Hub in the North Okanagan that supports local communities facing food insecurity. Food Hubs not only increase accessibility of food, but also provide food literacy programming and wellness activities, and other services such as mental health, employment services, childcare, and more.
“Food security is one of the top issues that we’re working on today,” said McKnight. “The economic uncertainty creates vulnerability, so if anyone is feeling hungry in our community, United Way is there to help.”
Your donation will help fund local United Way initiatives, like Food Hubs, that support residents from Revelstoke and Salmon Arm to Lumby and Vernon – building stronger, healthier communities.
There is still a chance to donate! Together, we can strengthen vital connections.
Thank you so much, North Okanagan! See you again next year!
